BIDEN CALLS TRUMP’S BUDGET PLAN “CRUEL” AFTER HOUSE PASSAGE

Former President Joe Biden strongly criticized the sweeping tax and budget package backed by President Donald Trump, calling it “cruel” and “reckless” in a post on X Thursday, just hours after the House gave final approval to the bill.

“The working class deserves better,” Biden wrote, warning that the legislation imposes “drastic cuts” to Medicaid and could strip health coverage from millions of Americans. He added that the bill would shutter rural hospitals, reduce food assistance for veterans and seniors, and lead to higher energy costs.

According to Biden, the Trump-backed measure would increase the federal deficit by $4 trillion while providing what he described as “a massive tax break for billionaires.” The legislation includes steep social spending cuts, expanded defense and border security funding, new taxes on remittances, and reduced support for renewable energy programs.

Despite internal GOP resistance, the Republican-controlled House passed the bill Thursday, sending it to President Trump for signature on July 4 — a symbolic move coinciding with Independence Day.
