A body was recovered early Thursday morning from a Chevy Tahoe found submerged in a canal in West Broward, authorities confirmed.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 9 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a vehicle in the water near the 18000 block of Krome Avenue in unincorporated Broward County. Upon arrival, they located the SUV partially submerged.
BSO deployed multiple specialized units, including its Dive Team, Marine Patrol, Missing Persons Unit, and Drone Unit, to assist in the recovery efforts. A body was found inside the vehicle during the operation.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. The BSO Traffic Homicide Unit is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
