Officers later found his car <strong>abandoned and crashed<\/strong>, and Kneeland was discovered <strong>dead nearby<\/strong> from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kneeland, selected by the Cowboys in the <strong>second round of the 2024 NFL Draft<\/strong>, played 17 snaps during Monday night\u2019s loss to the Cardinals, including a touchdown on a blocked punt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIt is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning,\u201d the team said in a statement. \u201cOur thoughts and prayers are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>NFL<\/strong> also issued a message of condolence, saying the league is working with the team to provide counseling resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A standout from <strong>Western Michigan University<\/strong>, Kneeland recorded 13 sacks during his collegiate career and had appeared in 18 professional games.
