Samsung has officially revealed the Galaxy Z TriFold<\/strong>, a radically redesigned foldable smartphone featuring three articulating sections<\/strong>, a 10-inch tablet-style display<\/strong>, and a traditional touchscreen on the outside. It launches in South Korea on December 12<\/strong>, with a U.S. release scheduled for early 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike Samsung\u2019s Z Flip and Z Fold lines, the TriFold includes two distinct hinges<\/strong> using a refined Armor FlexHinge<\/strong> system. The center panel, at 4.2 mm thick<\/strong>, is noticeably larger than the two outer panels, and Samsung says the internal frame compensates for the uneven distribution of mass\u2014allowing the device to fold tightly into a \u201cpocketable\u201d slab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huawei\u2019s Mate XT tri-fold phones inspired chatter online, but they don\u2019t sell in Western markets. Samsung\u2019s design differs: Huawei uses a Z-folding configuration<\/strong>, while Samsung folds the ends inward behind a separate 6.5-inch cover display<\/strong>. The company claims the hinges are tested for years of daily use<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIMENSIONS, DISPLAY & MULTITASKING<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Folded, the Galaxy Z TriFold measures 12.9 mm thick<\/strong> \u2014 bulkier than the Z Fold 7\u2019s 8.9 mm, but only slightly thicker than older Galaxy Fold models. The cover screen is 6.5 inches (1080p)<\/strong>, similar to Samsung\u2019s latest foldables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfold the device, and you\u2019re met with a 10-inch 2160 x 1584 OLED<\/strong>, running at 120 Hz<\/strong> and capable of powering three apps side-by-side<\/strong>. It supports full Samsung DeX<\/strong>, turning the TriFold into a portable workstation without an external monitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Powering that giant screen is a 5,600 mAh triple-cell battery<\/strong>, which is only modestly larger than traditional phones \u2014 meaning battery life may be a trade-off for heavy multi-app usage on the massive display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 309 grams<\/strong>, the device is very heavy<\/em> even by foldable standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This is roughly $500 more<\/strong> than the Galaxy Z Fold 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A U.S. launch is scheduled for Q1 2026<\/strong>, though no pricing is confirmed \u2014 but expectations suggest something in the $2,500+ range<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
