Israeli Air Strikes Target Suspected Hezbollah Site in Southern Lebanon

More than a dozen Israeli air strikes hit a row of hilltops near the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh on Friday, targeting what Israel described as a Hezbollah facility being restored in violation of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement. The Israeli military said its jets destroyed a site previously used to manage Hezbollah’s fire and defense system, adding that the group was attempting to revive its operations at the location, which had been destroyed in last year’s conflict.

Lebanese security sources confirmed the strikes and said the area may still contain Hezbollah weapons depots. Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun condemned the air raids, accusing Israel of routinely violating the ceasefire terms by conducting cross-border attacks and maintaining military positions within Lebanese territory. The November truce prohibits non-state armed presence in southern Lebanon, requires Israeli withdrawal, and mandates a halt to cross-border fire — conditions both sides now claim the other is breaching.
