Trump Says U.S. Decision on Iran-Israel Conflict Will Come “Within Two Weeks”

President Donald Trump has said he will decide “within the next two weeks” what actions, if any, the United States will take in response to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. During a White House press briefing on Thursday, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt quoted the president directly, saying: “Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks.”

Leavitt emphasized that Trump has been consistent in his position that Iran must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon—a stance he has maintained for decades. When asked about concerns among Trump supporters who oppose further U.S. involvement in Middle Eastern conflicts, Leavitt said the administration continues to weigh diplomatic options alongside national security interests. The decision is expected to be shaped by developments on the ground and the status of potential talks with Tehran.
