TRUMP SAYS U.S. HAS BEEN “RIPPED OFF” ON TRADE AND MILITARY SPENDING FOR DECADES

In a new post on Truth Social, President Donald Trump claimed that the United States has been exploited in trade and military arrangements for decades — by both allies and adversaries. He said the resulting financial burden, which he characterized as costing “trillions of dollars,” is no longer sustainable.

“The United States of America has been ripped off on TRADE (and MILITARY!), by friend and foe, alike, for DECADES,” Trump wrote. He urged other countries to acknowledge what he described as a long-standing “free ride” at America’s expense and expressed confidence that global partners would understand the need for change.

He added that the U.S. should thank them for recognizing “the situation we are in” and emphasized that adjustments are necessary to prioritize American interests going forward.

The post reflects Trump’s continued focus on reshaping U.S. trade policy and military cost-sharing agreements, themes that have defined much of his political messaging in both past and current campaigns.
