TRUMP THREATENS 35% TARIFF ON EU OVER INVESTMENT SHORTFALLS

President Donald Trump on Wednesday warned that the United States may impose a 35% tariff on European Union imports if the bloc fails to meet its investment commitments under recent trade talks.

Speaking at a press event, Trump criticized EU member states for “dragging their feet” on promised investments in U.S. industries, particularly in energy and advanced manufacturing.

“They made promises, and if they don’t deliver, we will act — 35% tariffs are on the table,” Trump said. “The American worker deserves fair treatment.”

The EU has not yet issued an official response. Analysts say the warning may be aimed at applying pressure ahead of further trade negotiations scheduled in Brussels next month.

The threat comes just days after the White House signed new trade frameworks with Japan and South Korea, reinforcing Trump’s broader “America First” economic strategy.
