TRUMP AND MUSK CLASH AGAIN OVER FEDERAL SUBSIDIES AND SPENDING BILL

Tensions between President Donald Trump and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk have reignited after a brief truce earlier this month. The disagreement centers on Trump’s proposed budget and tax bill, which Musk claims would sharply increase the national debt. In a message on Truth Social, Trump suggested that Musk’s businesses rely heavily on federal subsidies and warned that without them, operations like satellite launches and EV manufacturing might cease.

“Elon Musk knew well before he strongly supported me for president that I was firmly opposed to electric vehicle mandates,” Trump wrote. He added that while EVs have a place, “not everyone should be forced to own one.”

Musk, in turn, issued a warning to lawmakers considering the legislation. “Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and votes for this debt increase should be ashamed—and will lose their primary next year, even if it’s the last thing I do,” he posted on X.

The Senate is currently reviewing amendments to the bill, which includes major pillars of Trump’s agenda such as tax cuts, military funding, and increased border security. However, full Republican support remains uncertain.
