Police in Nigeria confirmed that the driver of heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua has been formally charged following a car crash that killed two members of Joshua’s team and left the boxer injured.
Authorities said Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, was charged Friday at the Sagamu Magistrate Court. Police sources told the BBC that the charges include causing death by dangerous driving.
The crash occurred earlier this week on the Lagos–Ibadan expressway in Ogun State. Joshua was a passenger in the vehicle and was treated for minor injuries. Police say an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
