A Florida man convicted of murdering his pregnant teenage girlfriend after she refused to get an abortion is facing the death penalty.
Prosecutors said Donovan Faison, 23, fatally shot Kaylin Fiengo, 18, in November 2022 after she sent him the results of two positive pregnancy tests. When Fiengo refused to terminate the pregnancy, Faison allegedly grew “angry and pressured” because he was living with another woman who suspected him of cheating.
Fiengo was discovered dead inside her running car at Coastline Park in Sanford, just north of Orlando, beside an ultrasound image and a bullet casing. She was in the final weeks of her first trimester.
According to Sanford Police, Faison lured her to the park that evening after texting a friend that he would “crop her out.” Prosecutors described the killing as “execution-style.”
“This was a cold, calculated, premeditated act,” Prosecutor Stewart Stone told jurors, emphasizing the deliberate nature of the crime.
Jurors voted 11-1 to recommend the death penalty, according to local reports.
Prosecutor Domenick Leo said text messages offered “clear, convincing evidence” of guilt, stating, “He said he was going to do it — then he did it.”
Faison, who was arrested nearly ten months after the murder, is scheduled for sentencing on December 5.
