PLANE CRASH IN CORAL SPRINGS KILLS TWO AID WORKERS EN ROUTE TO JAMAICA

Alexander Wurm and his daughter Serena, founders of Ignite the Fire Ministry, tragically lost their lives in the crash while delivering supplies to storm victims.

In a heartbreaking tragedy, two humanitarian workers were killed when their plane crashed into a lake in Coral Springs shortly after takeoff on the morning of November 10, 2025. The victims have been identified as Alexander Wurm, 53, and his daughter, Serena Wurm, 22, both members of the Ignite the Fire Ministry, a group dedicated to bringing aid and evangelism to communities across the Caribbean.

The Beech B100 aircraft was bound for Jamaica, where the Wurms were delivering relief supplies to victims of Hurricane Melissa. The crash occurred around 7:10 a.m. near the 5500 block of Northwest 57th Terrace, just off Wiles Road, minutes after departing from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud noise and explosion as the plane crashed into a lake behind a residential home. Fire rescue teams were dispatched to the area, and divers recovered the fuselage, but no survivors were found. Authorities believe the aircraft clipped a palm tree and struck a fence before plunging into the water.

“We haven’t found an entire plane yet,” said Mike Moser, Deputy Fire Chief of Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Rescue, in an official statement. “We believe it may be broken into smaller pieces.”

A video from a nearby surveillance camera captured the moment of impact, showing debris scattering across the neighborhood. Fortunately, no one on the ground was injured.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the crash, with authorities working to determine the cause.
