JACK DORSEY-BACKED REBOOT RESTORES 100K CLASSIC VIDEOS & BANS AI CONTENT

SAN FRANCISCO — November 12, 2025. A reboot of the iconic short-form video platform Vine has officially launched under the new name diVine, marking one of the most anticipated comebacks in social-media history.

The platform, funded by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, features a curated archive of more than 100,000 classic Vine videos, including some of the most viral six-second loops from the mid-2010s that helped launch careers and shape early internet culture.

diVine aims to revive Vine’s original formula: six-second user-generated videos, a fast-paced feed, and a creator-first environment centered around authenticity and humor.

In a move that sets it apart from TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, diVine has stated that AI-generated content is strictly prohibited, emphasizing human creativity over algorithmic production. Moderators and automated tools will be used to detect synthetic content.

Dorsey said the reboot is designed to “bring back the joy and simplicity of the old Vine era,” with minimalist features, chronological feeds, and no autoplay recommendations. The company says it wants creators to “shine on their own,” without predictive AI deciding virality.

Industry analysts say diVine enters a crowded but increasingly AI-saturated market — and its anti-AI stance could attract users longing for nostalgia and originality. “The timing is perfect — people miss real creativity,” said media strategist Laura Chen.

The app is currently available on iOS and Android, with early rollout in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. A global expansion is planned for early 2026.

Whether diVine can recapture Vine’s cultural lightning remains to be seen, but its return is already igniting enthusiasm across social media, with #VineIsBack trending minutes after launch.
