Newly revealed campaign finance documents indicate that from 1990 to 2018, Jeffrey Epstein directed approximately 89% of his political donations to Democratic and progressive causes. Prominent individual recipients of Epstein’s contributions included Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
Analysis of the financial records shows that Epstein’s political giving was heavily skewed toward Democratic candidates and committees, contributing over $147,000 to Democrats compared to just over $18,000 to Republican recipients during the nearly three-decade span.
Among the largest beneficiaries was Hillary Clinton, who received about $20,000 through her joint fundraising committee in 1999. Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign also accepted donations from Epstein early in the 1990s.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer received around $22,000 in campaign contributions across various campaigns and affiliated committees throughout the 1990s. Schumer later pledged to donate an equivalent amount to anti-sex trafficking and violence prevention organizations.
The disclosures renew scrutiny of Epstein’s political ties amid ongoing calls for accountability and transparency. Some recipients returned or donated matching amounts to charity upon revelations of Epstein’s criminal activities.
Epstein’s donations also reached other Democratic politicians nationwide, as well as some Republican figures, but with a pronounced imbalance favoring the left.
