From Tabasco to the World Stage, Bosch Wins Amidst a Dramatic, Emotion-Filled Pageant in Thailand
Fátima Bosch of Mexico has been crowned Miss Universe 2025, beating 121 contestants during the 74th annual pageant held at the Impact Challenger Hall in Nonthaburi, Thailand. The outgoing queen, Miss Denmark Victoria Kjær Theilvig, passed the crown to Bosch on Thursday night.
Born in Villahermosa, Tabasco, 24-year-old Bosch is recognized for her love of nature, compassion toward animals, and strong pride in her Mexican heritage.
Her victory marks a significant moment for Mexico, becoming the fourth Mexican Miss Universe winner and the first from the state of Tabasco. The last Mexican to win this prestigious title was Andrea Meza in 2020.
Bosch’s journey included studying abroad in Vermont, gaining fluency in English, and pursuing degrees in Fashion and Apparel Design in Mexico City and Milan, Italy. She is passionate about sustainable fashion, creating designs from repurposed materials to marry art with environmental responsibility.
Beyond fashion, Bosch dedicates herself to humanitarian work, volunteering with children battling cancer and supporting migrants and environmental causes through organizations like Ruta Monarca and Corazón Migrante.
The pageant’s theme, “The Power of Love,” highlighted her platform of compassion and leadership. During the finale, she spoke about empowering women, urging authenticity, courage, and hope.
Her win came amid a scandal when the pageant director publicly insulted her before the competition, which Bosch overcame with grace and determination, becoming a fan favorite and symbol of resilience.
With this crown, Bosch joins the Miss Universe family, embodying values of kindness, service, and cultural pride on the global stage.
