NEW FEATURE OFFERS VIEWERS A DETAILED LOOK AT THEIR MOST-WATCHED VIDEOS, CREATORS AND TRENDS OF THE YEAR
YouTube has launched a new personalized year-end recap experience similar to Spotify Wrapped, giving users insight into their viewing habits and trending content.
YouTube is joining the personalized analytics trend with a new year-end recap feature designed to highlight users’ viewing behaviors in a style reminiscent of Spotify Wrapped. The recap gives users curated insights into their most-watched videos, favorite creators, top music tracks, and the categories they spent the most time exploring throughout the year.
The feature offers eye-catching graphics, playful summaries, and shareable cards that users can post on social media. YouTube says the recap is designed to celebrate community engagement and help users rediscover meaningful content from the past year.
According to early previews, the recap breaks down metrics such as total watch time, top genres, niche channels users unexpectedly discovered, and even emotional themes tied to their viewing history — including comedy, motivation, education, or entertainment.
The launch comes as YouTube leans further into personalization and creator-centered tools to stay competitive with platforms like Spotify, TikTok, and Instagram. Analysts say such features deepen user attachment and encourage more time spent on the platform, especially during the high-traffic holiday season.
Creators may also benefit from aggregated data showing how their content performed across audience segments, giving them insight into engagement patterns that could shape future video strategies.
YouTube confirmed the feature will be available on desktop and mobile in the coming days and will update automatically each December.
